Introducing the Heritage Viking Set – the latest addition to the Peter Henderson Heritage Range.

This exceptional set of Heritage Bagpipes stands out with its laser-engraved Viking nickel and intricately engraved wood design. Unlike traditional bagpipes, which feature combed and beaded wood, this set showcases a detailed, artistic finish that sets it apart. Crafted to the highest standards, it’s an heirloom-quality instrument, built to be cherished and passed down through generations.

The engraving includes a Vegvisir (Viking Compass), seamlessly integrated with Viking patterns and a custom-designed dragon motif, symbolising the bow of a Viking longship. Runic inscriptions for “Peter Henderson”, “Heritage,” and “Viking” are also featured, along with hidden bind runes symbolising Courage, Protection, Music, Friendship, and Good Luck.

Using state-of-the-art design software, we have developed a one-of-a-kind Viking design, rendered in fine detail using advanced laser engraving techniques. Each set is handcrafted using African Blackwood, instrument-grade boxwood, and nickel with a unique laser-engraved design.

The projecting mounts are based on an original 1910 profile, offering a more refined aesthetic than those from the 1920s. The carefully selected first-grade boxwood is polished to a high natural sheen, creating a stunning contrast against the rich tones of the African Blackwood.

To ensure durability, our Blackwood bagpipes incorporate an innovative plastic lining in both the blowpipe and blowpipe stock, protecting the wood from moisture-related wear and tear.

Each Set comes with its own unique number engraved on the Bass Stock.
